Frequently Asked Questions

Classes

Q. How do I know which course to pick?

If you have no previous burlesque experience, the best course would be the Beginners Course.

If you have completed the Beginners Course or have over 1 year burlesque experience then the Intermediates Course would be best for you.

If you have produced a solo with me or completed the Intermediate Course, then you can join the Solo Course.

Q. Who is allowed to attend?

Anyone over the age 18 is allowed to attend.

We accept all shapes, sizes, ages, abilities, genders and sexualities.

As long as you are wanting to explore your femininity and sexuality, you are welcome.

Q. Do I have to get naked?

No, there is no full nudity in burlesque.

The Beginner Course has no lingerie removal.

The Intermediate Course and Solo Course, contains peels and reveals inside lingerie and bra removals with tassel twirling.

Q. What do I do after the course ends?

Each course leads to the next. After Beginners you can go into Intermediates and after Intermediates you can go into the Solo Course.

The Solo Course can be repeated when working on new acts or you can join on to the MentorStrip.

If you do not feel ready to go into the Solo Course and you are happy being in a group, then you can repeat the next Intermediate Course (there will be 16 weeks between them)

Q. What is the difference between your courses and other weekly burlesque classes?

The courses are a more in-depth approach of teaching you burlesque, it is not a fitness/exercise or chair class, it is a pure burlesque course and you are taught by an experienced burlesque performer and teacher.

The courses are restricted in size to stop people from feeling over whelmed and so all people get the time and attention they deserve, this will help make it a more supportive and safer enviroment which is important when it comes to doing full reveals in the Intermediate Course, as well as helping people grow their confidence.

There is a progression route and each course is building your skills and knowledge on burlesque.

Q. What if I don't want to do the courses, but want to be part of the Haus?

If you don't want to attend any of the courses and what to be part of Haus of Ruby's Rebels, you can join the MentorStrip where there are several options to choose from.

You can also create your own private group and work on everything the group wants to, as well as booking sessions as and when is better for everyone on a Saturday. Most private groups have fortnightly or monthly classes. You can see prices here

Email us to arrange dates and times.

Q. I can't afford the course all up front?

No probelm, the courses can be split into 3 payments and the Solo Course can be split up into 6 payments. All the payments have to be made before the course starts.

Q. How do the payment plans work?

Each month you will be sent an invoice of the amount agreed and that would need to be paid on the 1st of each month. The invoice will have a due date on it and a reminder will also be sent closer to the time. Please note that all payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Q. What is the difference between the MentorStrip and the Solo Course?

The MentorStrip does not guarantee you any performance spaces, but you will receive the first inside castings. The MentorStrip is to work on your solo acts at your pace and having my support and advice throughout that process.

The Solo Course gives you a place, day and time to focus on your act to help keep you motivated, as well as having a support group along the process. The Solo Course will give you all the alternative movements and flow, along with getting private sessions included in the price. The Solo Course also works out cheaper than what the average person pays when working on a solo.

Q. I don't know if I will be ready to perform, can I still do the course?

Yes, you can go through the course process and if you don't feel ready to perform, then there is no pressure for you to go out there and do it. Performing is always a personal choice, but start the course with the mindset that you will and it will help you start to build your confidence towards performing in front of others.
