Frequently Asked Questions
CLASSES
Q. How do I know which course or class to pick?
If you’re new to burlesque, the best starting point is our weekly burlesque classes. These are suitable for complete beginners and also helpful for those with some experience to accurately gauge their level.
If you already have experience, our Solo Course is a great next step in your journey. However, you’re always welcome in the weekly classes to get a feel for our school and community.

Q. Who is allowed to attend?
Anyone aged 18 or over is welcome.
We are an inclusive space and embrace all shapes, sizes, ages, abilities, genders, and sexualities. If you're looking to explore your femininity and sexuality in a supportive environment, you’ll feel right at home.

Q. Do I have to get naked?
No. There is no full nudity in our burlesque classes.
Some routines may include lingerie, bra removals, or tassel twirling, but these elements are completely optional. You’re welcome to mime or modify anything to suit your comfort level.

Q. What happens after the course ends?
Our weekly classes run all year round, making them a great way to continue learning, stay active in the community, and keep up with industry trends.
For those wanting more independence while still receiving guidance, we offer MentorStrip — a personalised support program for solo development.

Q. What’s the difference between your courses and weekly burlesque classes?
Our courses offer a more structured, in-depth learning experience and are focused on creating your own act under the mentorship of an experienced performer and teacher. These are not fitness classes, but pure burlesque education.
Courses are also intentionally small, ensuring everyone receives individual attention and feels safe, supported, and empowered.

Q. What if I don’t want to do a course but want to be part of the Haus?
That’s totally fine! You can still join our weekly classes or sign up for MentorStrip, which offers several flexible support options.
You can also create your own private group with friends and work on anything you like. Most groups meet fortnightly or monthly, usually on Saturdays. Visit our Group Bookings page for more info.

Q. I can’t afford to pay the course upfront — can I pay in instalments?
Yes! We offer flexible payment plans, allowing you to split the course fee into 3–6 payments.
Please note: All payments must be completed before the course begins. There is no interest, just a small £1 invoice fee per payment.

Q. How do the payment plans work?
Each month, you'll receive an invoice with the agreed amount and due date. A reminder will be sent before the deadline.
Please note that all payments are non-refundable and non-transferable from the time of the first payment.
Q. What’s the difference between the Solo Course and MentorStrip?
MentorStrip is a flexible, ongoing mentorship — you work on your act at your own pace with Ruby’s support, but there are no guaranteed performance opportunities.
The Solo Course offers a set day and time to focus on your act with structure and peer support. It includes private sessions, helps keep motivation high, and generally works out cheaper than piecing it together independently.

Q. I’m not sure if I’ll be ready to perform — can I still take the Solo Course?
Absolutely. You can complete the course without performing at the end. There’s no pressure to perform, but approaching the course with the mindset that you might will help you grow in confidence.

Q. What should I wear to class?
Wear something you feel comfortable and confident in. Many participants wear leggings, shorts, crop tops, or bodysuits.
Heels are optional — you can dance in bare feet, socks, or heels with ankle support. Bring a bottle of water and a positive attitude!

Q. Do I need dance experience?
Not at all! Our classes are designed to be welcoming and beginner-friendly. Whether you’ve never danced before or have experience in another style, you’ll find your place here.

Q. Are classes or courses refundable?
No, all class and course bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable, including payment plans. Please ensure you’re committed before booking.
