1. You’ve captivated audiences around the world. how would you describe Trixie Blue in three shimmering words?

Bold, provocative, dedicated.

2.  What inspired your very first burlesque performance, and how has your style evolved since then?

Ah my first ever performance was a group one to Roxanne from Moulin Rouge – Standard 00’s Burlesque hahaha! The inspiration was that we had to come up with a Moulin Rouge theme hahahah again, STANDARD!  However my first solo performance was created for a summer show, Schools out for Summer was the soundtrack to my solo start -  what a banger. I’ve evolved as a performer to step away from themes and just go with whats making my sparkly heart sing, mostly Slipknot haha!

3. Is there a signature Trixie Blue act or moment on stage that still gives you goosebumps?

I get goosebumps and excitement every good gaaad damn time I step out on stage. I love looking directly into the eyes of an audience member and making them squirm with delight or disgust hahaha. I have managed to make people make squeaky noises too – my work here is done hahah!

4.  You’re not just a performer, you’re also a mentor and producer. How do those roles influence one another?

I couldn’t be any of the other roles if I didn’t have first hand experience as a performer! My performing career really influences how I mentor and how I produce, laced with lots of love & fun in the process.

5. Through the House of Trixie Blue, you've nurtured so many performers. What’s the most rewarding part of mentoring new talent?

THE BEST FEELING in the world is watching someone realise how amazing they truly are.

6.  You’ve helped shape Newcastle into a hub for burlesque in the UK. What’s special about the city’s creative energy?

Newcastle is the party city of the UK, everyone just wants to have a good time, which is perfect for burlesque.

7. What was the inspiration behind launching the Newcastle Burlesque Festival, and how has it grown since?

I was thinking about starting the festival in 2020 – but the world had other plans DOH! I created this bad boy to offer further platforms for established and newcomer performers right in the heart of the party city.

8. What makes a burlesque act truly unforgettable in your eyes?

Authentic interaction with an audience.

9.  What advice would you give to someone just starting their burlesque journey, and what is the best advice you have been given?

GO TO EVERY SINGLE SHOW you can possibly go to, travel to them, embrace the community and don’t be a dick!!!!  Best advice I have ever been given is HAVE FUN at all times!

10.  If you could leave every audience with one feeling after a Trixie Blue performance, what would it be?
